CUPE 8443’s Diversity Committee is excited to invite you to our Black History Month Potluck, celebrating this year’s theme:
Black Legacy and Leadership: Celebrating Canadian History and Uplifting Future Generations
This potluck is a chance to come together as a union community to reflect, learn, and celebrate the rich contributions of Black Canadians—past, present, and future. All members are welcome to attend, whether you’re able to bring a dish or just yourself.
If you’d like to participate in the potluck, please consider bringing a dish to share (store-bought or homemade—both are welcome!). Dishes inspired by Black, Afro-Caribbean, and African cuisines are encouraged, but all contributions are welcome. We ask that you bring a list of ingredients so people with food allergies can be aware if their allergen is in the dishes.

We are also looking for: (you may sign up for these in the link as well)
- volunteers to help with cleaning up at the end
- 3 people willing to speak about their values, food, greetings in their language, or a black leader they look up to? (limit speaking time to 3 minutes)
We hope you’ll join us for an evening of food, community, and meaningful connection.
